The God Script? The Ego Script?

As I study the Renard book, “Disappearance of the Universe”, I am amazed at the analogies that are used by the wise beings he is conversing with.  I find their guidance practical and wanted to share how I find it is working in my life.

There is a concept, around page 280 in the book, about what is called the “scripts” that we are living our lives by.  There is the “ego script” and there is the “God Script” (God
is my word not theirs).

Today, just this morning, I noticed the difference for the second time and it was a wonder the result when I choose the “God Script”. Without getting into my personal life, this is what I want to share.

As I understand it, the ego script is filled with “Your” opinion, and “Your” way – which is the right way, by the way – I know I have been there. The teaching in the book is more complicated than that, but for sharing purposes here I am simplifying it.

So, a situation arises and immediately the ego has an opinion and may even ask, “Can I share an idea with You?” but what is really being said is “Can I tell You how I would do that?”  The ego of the other person, always wanting to do things “perfectly”, hesitates but the urge to be perfect is too strong and so the answer is – yes.  And then the ego script plays out.  Two egos, not agreeing on the one right way, begin their dance. This is the Ego Script in action.

However, I discovered, this is not the only way it could play out.  As I experienced this, the God Script caused me to pause in my own mind.  I examine “my” opinion and ask myself what the God Script would allow for; in Christian terms – what would Jesus do? As I paused, the urge to speak grew so strong, that I just knew I was doing the right thing by pausing. 

I considered the whole idea that we learn by doing, by experiencing our way of expressing ourselves and where it does not go exactly as planned, we adjust and the result is, WE LEARN.  So, for me in this instance, the God Script said “let this one learn and experience their world, their way.”  So, for me the God Script said stay quiet and support this one in their journey. So, I did!

The result is why I am writing this today!! Calm came over me; followed by a lightening in my heart and in my human spirit. As if the “job” of knowing the right way for everyone lifted. What a relief! Then the rest of my morning fell into place in this most miraculous way.

I had been running late and, magically, I was perfectly (I mean perfectly) on time!! And from there the day just got better and better. 

I have discovered that when I choose the God Script – the script that calls me to accepting, patience and allowing – MY world softens, lightens and grows easier.

P.S. I found that if I focused on the Ego Script that just brought me into judgment of myself. So, now I am focusing on the God Script only and it is easier on me.
