This Blog is a conversation with You about living the philosophies that we all read about. People ask me “how” I do what I do ... This blog is about just that. This is my experience of the ideas that I have heard, been taught and read about over the years I have studied My Self and others. May You step over the pot holes that I have tripped on; learn from my sharing and together we can “live in the world the way we want it to be” to use Ghandi’s words. Enjoy, Share and Grow – Together!

I See You!

Saw the Avatar movie for the second time last night. It is impressive. I find there is a lot of violence that I have to suffer through, but I felt the need to “visit” the planet of Pandora again. Its beauty called out to me.

What is most beautiful, and inspiring to me, was the harmony of connectedness on this planet. Now, I know it is a fictional place, but the possibility of that kind of harmony was inspiring.

It is reported that Ghandi once said “live in the world the way you want it to be” and I saw how it could be in this movie!  I saw soft listening, respect and connection between
the people and their planet. It is what I try to do in my small piece of the planet.  I felt encouraged that it is possible. I saw us, as children, still learning the way to really be alive on our planet.

Each day I go out into the small sanctuary that we have created, filled with birds and animals and I do my best to visit with them, to feed them and to commune with them.  I call my front garden the St. Francis of Assisi Garden because of its many inhabitants and the harmony that exists there.  What harmony? Well, no animal – no squirrel, no raccoon, no blue jay, takes more than their share of the food. We feed the feeders daily – all 12 of them – and everyone just takes some and leaves.  There is like shifts, for birds and animals and everyone takes their turn and their share. Even when the deer come and eat the pansies, they don’t destroy the plant. They gently eat the petals of the flowers and the plant is safe to grow again.

I sit in admiration of this garden and its inhabitants. And I saw a planet wide version of that, in this movie, Avatar.  It inspired me to be more harmonious with what is around me, daily; beyond my little garden.

And finally, the ending – I SEE YOU! That just took my breathe away, perhaps because that is what I try to do in my work each day and with each client; but more than that. It was an affirmation that there IS more to us than what we meet at the surface.  That there is a link among all beings and this movie painted that picture beautifully.

And the painting of it was so pretty. This is a pretty picture.  Now, the violence does throw mud – a lot of mud – on that painting; but nevertheless looking beyond the violent portions, it is a beautiful movie.

But even the violence speaks in its ugliness. For me, it showed me another side of myself; the side that “just wants what it wants and …” It is truly amazing that once I choose to “SEE”  My Self, it is shown to me in all of her glory, all around me, in every way possible.

So, here are my words to you today. If you can stand the violence that fills nearly fifty percent of this movie, and can focus on the beauty and the harmony, you will see a world that inspiring.  If you can take that beauty home with you and see that harmony and sense of respected connection in your own piece of our Mother Planet then, perhaps, we  can, together,  re create the world “the way we want it to be”.

Let me know what you saw? It is wonderful how two people can go to the same movie and see such different things.  But I am not asking you to “judge” – this is not a forum for the ego’s judgment. I am asking you what it inspired you, to feel about your own portion of Mother Earth!!

Let every experience in Your life show You, You and what a wonder living becomes.

  2. Hi Donna. I love that you have a blog! I have been meaning to write but I HAD to write about Avatar! I just seen it this past week and it touched me deeply. Most people see and talk about the special effects which were great but I felt the spirituality of this movie. I actually cried at some points because I do feel a strong connection to the earth and nature. I felt like I was one of these tribal avatars. I love the ceremonies they held in the movie and one scene in particular... when they were trying to change the main character into one of them and they all chanted then all stretched out their arms and touched one another. They showed this from a bird's eye view in the movie. To me this represented all of us as one. All humanity and every living creature. This was a very emotional movie for me to watch, even though I loved it. I was wondering if you had seen it because you always write I See You! in your emails. So no wonder you were surprised when they said this in the movie! I think it is one of my favorite movies and seeing it in 3-D was great. First time for me.

That being said I also wanted to comment on the book you are reading... Gary Renard's. I have not read that book yet but I am reading Deepak's Reinventing The Body, Resurrecting The Soul. It is interesting. I got see him in Moncton in November. I love listening to him. Is Gary's book hard to digest? It sounds pretty deep. I have seen it online at Indigo.

In closing, I love your little sanctuary of birds and animals you have at your house. Whenever I visit your house I always feel peaceful. :)

    Namaste! Karen MacIsaac

  3. Hi Donna,

I too loved the movie and the connection between all living things. So much of the movie can we related to our world today and I hope that we can awaken to evolve as the beings of Pandora....

    I see you too...

  4. Michele, I so would love to see us using "I See You" as often as we use "Namaste". I love Namaste, but not everyone knows the meaning of the word. This one is in english and says so much. I guess particularly with my work, it is how I do what I do "I see You" is my tool. Anyway, to see the images of Pandora on the screen gave me a fuller idea of how our world could also be. We are blessed with the many creative people in our world. D.

About Me

My photo
Hi, my name is Donna Somerville and I am a full time spiritual medium and facilitator. What do I facilitate? You! You and your developing awareness of what You love, what fulfills You and how You sabotage Your Self. I do this, and have been learning how to do this since 1988. How do I do this? By having conversations, out loud, with Your Inner Self and recording those conversations so that You can “listen” in. I am a listener. Although people like to call them readings and channeling, I call it “listening”. I believe that my purpose is to, quite literally, become useless to You. My work is to “listen”, and then to show You how to do it for Your Self. I love my life! All of it.The ups and the downs. I feel it is a great privilege and adventure to be alive now, at this time and I want to experience life to the fullest. I am all about experience!
